About The Event

Join us for a special Autumn Equinox Cacao Ceremony to honor the balance of nature and bring more balance into our lives.  We will share  heart opening, ceremonial grade Guatemalan cacao with an intention circle to begin.   Then we will transition into a gentle Sheng Zhen Meditative Movement practice to relax our bodies and open our hearts.  As we synchronize as a group and individually, we will lay down in our comfortable nests for an immersive journey through sound.  The sound journey will feature harmonic resonance of large German gongs, handpan, singing bowls, ancient whistles, flutes, and more unique instruments.

Please wear comfortable clothing and bring a water bottle and a comfortable nest to lay down for about an hour (sleeping pad / yoga mat, blankets, pillow, an eye covering, and anything to make you more comfy).

Arrival Time: 1:00 - 1:45pm

Offering: 2:00 - 4:45pm

Sliding Scale Tickets: $33 - $55

Ceremonial Cacao is a special tool that can help us to open our hearts and connect with our higher selves.  The theobromine in cacao can slightly increase our heart rate while it lowers our blood pressure as it opens the arteries of our hearts.  Consuming a ceremonial serving of cacao (40 - 55 grams) increases the production of Anandamide, a naturally occurring fatty acid neurotransmitter that is named after the Sanskrit word Ananda, which means ‘joy, bliss & delight’.

*Ceremonical Cacao Considerations*

For people with low blood pressure or a high heart, a smaller serving of cacao is recommended.  Cacao is an MOAI and can react with SSRI based antidepressants and anti-psychotics - it is recommended to talk with your medical provider before the ceremony or ask for a small amount of cacao.  The ceremonial grade cacao drink is optional and we will have a heart opening sparkling water Spagyric Heart Elixir available for those who may not want the cacao.   The Heart Support Spagyric Tincture and some other Spagyric Tincture options from Sacred Herbal Extracts will be available to add to the cacao also.

More about Sheng Zhen Meditative Movement Practice:

Sheng Zhen, pronounced Shung Jen, is a unique style of qi gong and mindfulness practice centered  around opening the heart and balancing one’s energy through movement and  meditation. This practice relaxes and opens the body, allowing the blood and Qi (energy) to flow freely. During this relaxation, an exchange of Qi with the universe happens creating a feeling of oneness with the world around us. Through this exchange of Qi and relaxation, the practitioner can begin to feel life through an open heart, finding joy and happiness everywhere and in everything.  Sheng Zhen is a journey back to one’s true home, into one’s own heart. A journey into the heart of existence, back to that ‘nothingness’ from which everything arises.  There are many different forms, movements and meditations that can be taught through this practice.
